Test flight of an F-101A aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The aircraft is seen cruising normally, at high altitude, with contrails behind it. The aircraft is deliberately stalled by the pilot. It enters a flat spin. After several turns in the flat spin, the test pilot deploys a parabrake, which is seen at the tail of the aircraft. The aircraft continues descending, not fully stabilized by the parabrake. The pilot bails out. His open chute can be seen.
