The Peleliu operation in Peleliu, Palau Islands during World War II. Three U.S. marines gather around a foxhole. One of the marines fires a pistol into the foxhole. A marine rifleman fires into a Japanese pillbox. A marine uses a flame thrower on it as a result of which it burns. The flame thrower shoots flame into the pillbox. U.S. 2nd Battalion 5th Marines go inside it and bring out equipment. The marines inspect the gear which they found in the pillbox. Tents of United States 1st Marine Division.
