During D-Day Invasion of Normandy, France during World War II. U.S. troops land on a beach. They carry a wounded on a litter. The soldiers of 3rd Battalion land on a very small parallel beach. They are trapped against a chalk embankment on which were Nazi machines and guns. The soldiers dig foxholes on the open beach. The soldiers are seated in a group on the beach. Landing crafts near the shore. U.S. soldiers in a landing craft. A group of soldiers advance across the beachhead. Two of them are hit by enemy fire and fall. A U.S. medic gives first aid to the wounded.
