Xavier University's athletic program brings African American students into contact with other schools and also develops physical skill and high ideals of sportsmanship in New Orleans, Louisiana. The student athletes leap over obstacles. They run on a racing track. One of the students does physical exercise. Ralph Metcalfe, a track coach and a former Olympic star, at the university. He guides the students sitting on the ground. Some students run while others sit. A student tries to leap across a string strung across two poles and succeeds in the second attempt.
