Ceremony of "Lou Gehrig Appreciation Day" at Yankee Stadium in New York. A large crowd of spectators in the stadium. Seventh Regiment Band marches during the ceremony. Babe Ruth moves toward microphones. Lou Gehrig stands in front of the microphones. Lou is honored as "the greatest prototype of good sportsmanship and citizenship" by New York Mayor Fiorello La Guardia. Gehrig addresses the crowd and says that he considers himself the luckiest man on the face of the earth and he thanks for the honor received from all fans. His Yankee teammates and their opponents that day, the Washington Senators, are lined up on the infield grass. Babe Ruth gives presentations and remarks. Lou stands beside him. George Herman Ruth, Jr. (Babe Ruth) and dignitaries stand and pose. A large crowd in the stadium.
