Twelve year old boy Robert Dodge makes a homemade car out of junk for $1 total cost in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Robert Dodge starts and drives his gasoline powered car, which is about the size of a soapbox racer car. Children run behind him as he drives the car. He pulls into a gas station and the filling station attendant adds fuel to his gasoline tank. Robert continues on driving his car. He stops the car along a sidewalk. He accepts money or treats from other children to give them rides in the car. A girl sits on the "hood" of the car and then he drives away down the street giving her a ride.
