Just prior to the outbreak of World War 2, Queen Mary, widow of King George V and mother of kings Edward VIII and George VI, arrives in Shorncliffe, England to review the 13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary's Own). She is escorted by Commander of the Regiment and a civilian official, as they walk past parked armored vehicles and past the ranks of troops at attention. Carrying a parasol, Queen Mary stops to speak with an aged veteran of the Regiment. Next, she is seen seated on a bleacher bench, surrounded by officers of the Regiment, posing for a group picture.
