Operations at an Italian shipyard during World War I

shipyard operations in Italy during World War 1. A man using a pneumatic tool to drive rivets into steel plates for submarines and warships. Men using chain block and tackle hoist to raise heavy parts in the assembly plant. A submarine at the shipyard pier, being outfitted. A freighter in background. Another submarine at the pier, being services with fuel and water. It displays the Naval Ensign of the Kingdom of Italy. Scene shifts to a pier in foreground, where Italian Naval officers and officials stand next to the stern of a huge ship, towering above them. Across the water, many other uniformed persons watch from another pier and local citizens watch from vantage points on buildings in the background. Suddenly, the ship moves down the ways, past the official party, and into the river. A camera captures the event from another perspective, where spectators watch from small boats. Although persons line the deck of the newly launched ship, it shows little superstructure, which will likely be added later. The next scene shows an Italian two-piper torpedo boat destroyer under full steam with black smoke billowing from her stacks. One crew member stands aloft on her forward mast. She displays the numeral "6" on her hull. (World War I; World War 1; WWI; WW1)

A popular Wilson campaign photograph (coming loose at the top) is attached to the car door . The writing under Wilson's picture is not legible. As Bryan sits down in the car, his wife, Mary, is seen next to him. (She had been blocked from the camera while he stood.) The car drives away. In complete change of scene, a crowd is seen completely filling the lawn and grounds of "Shadow Lawn," President Wilson's Summer White House, at Long Branch, New Jersey. They have come to celebrate his renomination as Democratic candidate for President. Camera pans over the crowd. Next, President Wilson is seen standing on a step in the center of the garden, acknowledging and accepting the nomination.
