A welcoming crowd gathered outside in a light rain, awaiting arrival of President and Mrs. Nixon to witness the launch of the Apollo-12 moon mission. A helicopter lands carrying advance party of White House staff and others, who quickly exit and walk along a roped corridor through the waiting crowd. Secret Service agents in tan rain coats patrol the pathway. Moments later, Marine One, the helicopter carrying the Presidential party, lands. The crowd stands close to the helicopter as Pat Nixon steps from it, followed by President Nixon and their daughter, Patricia. The President and First Lady immediately begin mingling with people lined up against the ropes, under watchful eyes of Secret Service agents.
