U.S. 8th Army Air Force gun camera film showing actual aerial combat scenes during World War 2, in Europe. A Messerschmitt Bf 109 is seen being attacked from the rear. It is struck, loses control and begins to burn. Next, a German Focke Wulf 190 (FW-190) with a 300 liter drop tank still attached, is attacked. The drop tank is hit and explodes in flames. It separates from the aircraft, which rolls and dives. Another FW-190 with its landing gear extended, is attacked and explodes in flames. An Fw-190, has its wing blown off and falls out of the sky. A U.S. fighter plane strafing a German E-boat (German: Schnellboot, or fast boat). The plane strafes from the boat's port side and then circles to attack head-on as the boat attempts evasive maneuvers. An FW-190 is attacked, head-on as it is also firing at the U.S. fighter. It is struck and erupts in flame and smoke. A pair of Siebel Fh 104 Hallore transport planes are attacked, followed by an attack on a Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor transport, as it takes off from an airfield. Its left wing is set afire. Next, a U.S. fighter engages and destroys a German Dornier Do-17 bomber, in a head-on attack, as it is climbing out. That same U.S. fighter plane attacks and destroys an FW-190. In final scene, a Messerschmitt bf 109 is shot to pieces in another head-on attack.
