Kosygin speaks in the General Assembly of the United Nations about the Middle East and condemns the U.S. for allegedly encouraging Israel. U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson meets Australian Prime Minister Harold Edward Holt and his wife Zara Kate Dickens. He talks about the Middle East crisis days after the Six-day war, and urges Israeli-Arab negotiation with world cooperation. In the old city of Jerusalem, the dividing wall separating Jewish and Arab sections of the Holy City is demolished by bulldozers and religious orthodox Jews in a pilgrimage flock to the Wailing Wall or Western Wall.
