During the half time break a band performs and an artist performs a mask dance wearing a giant "Lena the Hyena" mask. Play resumes. Eleven American communist leaders appear to stand trial on charges against the United States government under the Smith Act. Defendants enter the courthouse carrying suitcases as photographers take pictures. People on the streets hold posters in hands which read “Frame up trial of 12 on today”. Defendants (Benjamin J. Davis, Jr., Eugene Dennis, John Gates, Gil Green, Gus Hall, Irving Potash, Jack Stachel, Robert G. Thompson, John Williamson, Henry Winston, and Carl Winter), arrested members of the National Board of the CPUSA, pose for a group photo. Another member was indicted but was not tried due to illness.
