F-4D Phantom Flight crew from the USAF 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron of the 49th Tactical Fighter Wing check in at the operations desk. They display the Black Sheep logo patch of the 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron on their flight suits. After signing in, they enter a briefing room where others are assembled. The Squadron Commander, a Lieutenant Colonel, briefs them on the planned "Crested Cap II" deployment route, to their NATO dual base, at Ramstein, Germany. He points out the flight path across the U.S. and across the Atlantic to Europe, on a map that also depicts places where refueling aircraft will be orbiting over the ocean.
