Large briefing maps for the U.S. and Chinese officers at the drop zone, where 1100 Chinese paratroopers jump to end the Exercise Hsien Feng in Taiwan. The maps are placed on stands. Two Chinese officers stand together, one talks on the phone. A group of sedans. Chiang Kai Shek steps out of the sedan and walks up the steps into the building. The officers stand on the reviewing stand. Chiang Kai Shek moves to his seat and comes to a salute. General Dean and VADM Smooth are also on the stand. A Chinese officer points to the Chinese letters on the briefing map as the officers are briefed on the dropping of the paratroopers. A canopy covers the reviewing stand for the officers. A Chinese officer briefs the officers on the large maps, which shows the drop zone. The leaflet drop at the drop zone. Sky is filled with leaflets. The paratroopers descend to the ground in the drop zone. Sky is filled with chutes. Some of the paratroopers strike the ground leave their chutes and run toward the assembly area as other chutes descend to the ground. The paratroopers run through the hilly field toward the assembly area. One of the paratroopers hit on the rough ground then leaves his chute. Three paratroopers pick up machine guns, tripods and other gear as they leave their chutes on the ground and begin running toward the camera.
