At times they traverse flooded areas. Most are armed with rifles and hand grenades. One carries a StG-44 assault rifle. They move cautiously. Some fire a trench mortar and its shell explodes nearby. A large formation of German bombers is seen high overhead. German Ju-87 Stuka dive bombers attack nearby Soviet positions and explosions are seen in large numbers.
