Film demonstrates working of the Alcohol-O-Mat in Germany, a precursor to the modern breathalyzer. A drunk man comes out of a house drunk and smoking a cigarette. He gets into a Volkswagen convertible and drives dangerously. Next, we see the same man with Alcohol-O-Mat device installed in the car. The driver breathes into a large funnel and the device lights up, releases smoke, sounds a siren, and sprays water on the him because it has detected him to be intoxicated.
