USS Intrepid (CV-11) aircraft carrier underway in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. A battleship and an aircraft carrier fire anti aircraft guns. Flak bursts in the air. Smoke column rises from the aircraft carrier after hit by a Japanese kamikaze. Wreckage of Japanese plane burns on the deck of USS Intrepid. Some is not visible as the planes engine and part of its fuselage penetrated the Intrepid's deck. U.S. Navy crew spray water on the fire with hoses. 8 U.S. Navy sailors were killed and 21 were wounded in the attack.
