Japanese workers make fans in Kyoto, Japan. A worker shows a Japanese fan making method. The worker saws bamboo in short pieces and splits the bamboo into narrow stripes. He drills holes through each blade of the fan frame. The bamboo stripes. The worker bevels off edges and uses a wood chisel and a plane. He sands down and smoothen off each individual frame.
