The great Erie Railroad docks, Cleveland, Ohio. A large Cylindrical metal dumper overturns railroad coal cars to dump contents into a ship, at the rate of two cars per minute. It rolls up an incline, with a coal car inside, turning the coal car upside down to empty it. This is repeated twice. Then the empty coal car is moved out and a new full one arrives ready to enter the dumper. (Edison Company, June, 1897)
