American aviator, Douglas "wrong way" Corrigan speaking on July 18, 1938 (after landing in Ireland) about his alleged mistake in heading across the Atlantic instead of towards California, in a flight from New York City. Scene shifts to Corrigan taxiing in his airplane.View of Corrigan in his airplane and exiting therefrom as engine shuts down and prop stops. People gather by his airplane. He is seen opening congratulatory communications at the "chief Secretaries Lodge" in Dublin, residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. Corrigan is seen standing outside the residence with John Clarence Cudahy, the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. Corrigan again seen talking with interviewers. Sightseeing boats carrying fans and signs welcome Corrigan upon his arrival back in New York. Signs read: "Brooklyn is waiting for Corrigan" and " Celtic Circle welcomes Corrigan."He is feted by a ticker tape parade along Broadway.
