Two French officers monitor their activity as they remove shells and gun powder, from the rail car, for placement in the bunker. Other marines are seen inside the supply bunker.
Russian officials along with Tsar Nicholas II arrive at a field cemetery on the Eastern front during World War I. A priest accompanies them as they walk. The officers and soldiers walk into a fenced area where fallen soldiers, in uniform, are laid out. soldiers unload more war dead from wagons and place them on the ground. Some houses are seen in the background. In a different setting, war dead, with some snow on them, are laid out on the ground. Tsar Nicholas II and officers are seen proceeding on horseback, ahead of marching troops. Snow covered fields in the background.
A confused World War 1 scene, in which German prisoners of war are mostly seated in a compound, where Russian officers stroll about and several Russian soldiers, armed with rifles and fixed bayonets act as roving guards. Two Russian medical personnel in white coats mingle amongst the prisoners as if checking on their health. Many of those walking past the camera seem to do so for the novelty of being filmed in a movie. (WWI; WW1)
Events during World War I. Russian battle casualties are moved, on stretchers, amongst trains in rail yard. One casualty appears to have died and is rolled from a stretcher onto a wheeled cart. Soldier talks with one casualty who lifts his head and then lies down again. Another wounded soldier converses with attendants, dressed in white clothes, as they bend over his stretcher, lying on the ground. They appear to be reassuring him.
