Crown Prince Akihito and Crown Princess Michiko, wearing a western-style suit and kimono respectively, descend from stairs. Crown Princess Michiko and her husband sit together on a sofa in the Tokyo Imperial Palace. Her son, Prince Naruhito, runs down stairs to greet her. Prince Naruhito, aged two-years old, joins his parents on the sofa. Crown Princess Michiko reads a book to Naruhito. Naruhito playfully teases his father while the latter reads a book. The couple watch Naruhito outside on a tricycle.
