The pop group is invested with the 'Most Excellent Order' of the British Empire for their economic contribution to the United Kingdom. It was the first time that the MBE was bestowed upon "pop stars". The Beatles- John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison- hold their medals. Audience cheers and waves. Cameramen take photographs. Some fans run after John Lennon’s Rolls-Royce as it drives away outside the Buckingham Palace.
