Marshall, with a cigarette, standing next to Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Roosevelt, Jr. (with cane). His wife, Eleanor, stands to their right, dressed in a YMCA uniform (that she designed). YMCA emblem is displayed on her hat. Brigadier General Francis C. Marshall, Commander, 2nd Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, stands to her right. Next is a closeup of Colonel Roosevelt and Eleanor conversing. The group descends from the rubble heap and the scene shifts to horses pulling caissons up close to a building where American troops have assembled.
