Two U.S.soldiers ask directions from a Japanese man hauling wood with his bullock cart , while walking westward, on the road of current day Japanese National Route 20 in Hachioji, Tokyo, Japan. One of the soldiers refers to a Japanese phrase book in an effort to communicate. The man tries to direct the soldiers. He points in different directions with his hands in response to their perceived questions. At the end of their conversation, the Japanese man removes his hat and bows. The two soldiers continue their walk. (World War II period).

A newsreel titled "Jap atomic equipment destroyed" shows United States occupation troops looking at Japanese atomic research equipment in Japan a few months after the end of World War II. U.S. Army officers and soldiers tour the Nishina Laboratory of the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, better known as the RIKEN Research Institute, at Komagome, in Tokyo, Japan. Laboratory director Dr. Yoshio Nishina is seen in the lab with the American forces. American soldiers are seen dismantling, destroying, and disposing of the the atom smasher cyclotron equipment. Occupation troops in an outdoor field rig demolition charges to some of the equipment and blow it up.

The fish activates a parachute to fall safely, only for it to drop into the gaping maw of the Schnozzola seal. The Schnozzola seal repeats his earlier dialogue to describe life in the Aleutian Islands.
