New York residents and some uniformed US Navy sailors are seen celebrating in the streets of New York on V-E day (Victory in Europe). A US Navy sailor with a pretend Hitler mustache is hoisted in the air. The torch and full structure of the Statue of Liberty is lighted again in New York for the first time, following a long period of darkness.
