People flee as a result of heavy floods in Vanport in Oregon

Water from Columbia River spreads over the city as houses remains submerged. Some houses and buildings are seen floating in the river, including very large homes and businesses and warehouses. Some men are seen standing on top of the roof of building as it floats down the river. Men in rowboats scan the debris. An underwater scuba diver with large scuba helmet is seen rising to the surface from under water. Massive erosion of river banks opens the way to widening waters.
