British civilians evacuated to an underground 'Deep Shelter' in London, avoiding bombing over civil areas by the Nazi German Luftwaffe aircraft. Men, women and children wave their hands, from inside the train. Old man drinks milk handed him by a woman. War Relocation Authority assist a descending woman and patient on stretcher out of the train. Refugee children at the refugee camp after escaping Europe in World War II.
Documentary titled 'One Millionth Security Check'. A woman representative of The Social Security Board at a house in Parma, Ohio. She gives the check to Mrs. Mary Thompson, the widow house mistress. Mrs. Thompson shown holding a number of Social Security checks. Two children of Mrs. Thompson, a girl and a boy playing with a wagon in garden outside the house.
Newsreel titled 'Favorite Wins Trot Classic'. Civilians wearing hats move in to witness The Corn Tassel Derby harness horse racing in Goshen, New York. Horse race starts with participants giving tough competition to each other. Various trotting carts on dusty tracks during successive laps of the race. Yankee Maid wins the race and spectators rise from their chairs to cheer the winner.
Newsreel titled 'Victims of Nazi Rule Welcomed'. The U.S. ship "Marine Flasher" carrying European Refugees arrives at a harbor in New York in the year after the end of World War 2. A huge crowd waits at the harbor. The refugees are welcomed with warmth by their relatives and friends in an emotional environment. Man given a warm hug by his relatives. A woman and her child. Sobbing woman welcomes her loved one. Mother and child, and two other women show prisoner number tattoos on their arms, administered by the German Nazis in a concentration camp.
