Needy and poor children from poor and low income homes in Detroit romp and play at "Fresh Air Camp", a summer camp in Sylvan Lake, outside Detroit, Michigan, during the Great Depression. The camp was established by the Detroit Free Press newspaper. (The Sylvan Lake Community Center is now on the site.) Boys and girls run out of a main camp building, possibly the dining hall.
