A bicycle race in the United States.

About 25 cyclists gather loosely at starting point of race, on stone street with trolley tracks in it. They ride downhill on a concrete highway, escorted by motorcycle police and several automobiles. At the finish line in the city, spectators line both sides of the course, set along edge of a main street. A trolley car sits in center of street, and cars fill the opposite lane from the race. (The cars have no rear license plates.) The motorcycle police lead two finalists to the finish line, racing neck-to-neck. A trophy is presented to the winner.

Cooks cook food in a kitchen using electric utensils. Bakers make fresh bread. Fancy desserts and pastries are prepared and served to guests. Men and women dance in costumes at a party. The captain sings a sailor song.
