A Boeing 314 Pan American Clipper taxis in on two outboard engines, after a water landing. A DC-2 flies overhead. Passengers from the Clipper are ferried to an inclined pier and walk up towards shore. Several dozen people are seen boarding three buses parked on the inclined pier. A member of the Saudi royal entourage sits on a sofa aboard the American Cruiser, USS Quincy, on the occasion of a meeting between King Ibn Saud (also called King Abdulaziz) of Saudi Arabia and President Roosevelt, at Great Bitter Lake, Egypt. Other members of the royal entourage also sit with him on the ship. One holds a kettle. Others drink from little saucers. They refill them. An American flag flies above the ship. Military personnel salute as King Saud slowly makes his way past them. The king greets President Roosevelt, who is confined to a chair on deck, and sits to hold discussions with the president. A marine officer acts as interpreter during the World War 2 meeting.
