Imperial Russian soldiers run ashore from a Russian Navy boat on the river bank. An Imperial Navy Jack (flag) is seen on a docked long boat manned by Russian sailors. Next scene shows Imperial Russian soldiers aboard two open rail cars, pushed by a locomotive. They have armed the cars with a 76.2 mm divisional gun model 1902 field artillery piece and other smaller arms. They have a shelter built on one of the cars.

The end of World War 2 is reflected in cheerful faces as Russian women workers fold bolts of cloth at a fabric plant. Civilian production has started up again as factory workers and production turns from war production to peace time commerce. A marriage ceremony in the countryside. An artist makes painting of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. A crowd of civilians cheers and waves their hands as a parade procession passes through streets. Marchers carry large portrait of Joseph Stalin. Girls greet war heroes with flowers as the parade moves along a tree-lined boulevard, stopping at an equestrian statue, where the portrait of Stalin is placed.

General George S Patton Junior and Lieutenant General Jimmy Doolittle of the United States Army return to United States after World War II. A huge crowd cheers for the Generals as their parade procession marches on roads in Los Angeles, California. A crowd of around 2,000,000 cheer the Generals who lead the war and defeated Nazi Germany. Generals from their cars raise their hats towards the crowd. General Doolittle addresses the press reporters. He insists the home team to assure supplies so that field team finishes the war effectively.
Hungarians revolt against Soviet puppet government and receive aid from Poles who also revolted.
The 1956 uprising in Hungary (also called the Hungarian Revolution). Cardinal Jozsef Mindszenthy is freed from prison on October 30, 1956, on November 3, he made a radio broadcast praising the revolution. (He is seen, possibly at that event.) Smoke rises from a tugboat in a harbor, where relief supplies are piled on a dock. People read about the rebel triumph in newspapers distributed from a truck, in Budapest. Soviet-built Li-2 airplanes (similar to DC-3) airlift relief supplies from Poznan, Poland. Convoy of ambulances and medical teams and supplies from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) cross into Hungary at a border control point. Revolutionaries get medical treatment in hospitals. Sacks of relief supplies are seen.
U.S. task force underway for Peleliu (Palau) Invasion during World War II.
Opening slate reads LST 554, and date 8-13. Views of U.S. invasion task force vessels underway toward Peleliu Island (Palau), during World War 2. A 110 foot wooden Subchaser, number SC 633 is seen close, to starboard of camera boat (LST-554) and refueling lines are stretched between the LST and the Subchaser. Ensign Maynard K. Ross of Philadelphia, PA, directs the take-up of slack in the refueling lines while a Navy Commander on the LST bridge oversees the operation. (Note: SC 633 ended up running aground during the invasion.) Break in sequence and scene shifts to glimpse of slate reading August 20, 1944, and then view aft on LST 554. On the bridge, 21-year-old Ensign Charles Kahler, of Schenectady New York, uses a sextant to shoot sun lines. Another officer is seen taking relative bearings with a pelorus. Sailors are resting on deck. A series of splashes are created in the water by gunners testing their weapons. LST 557 is cruising to starboard. Puffs of black FLAK smoke appear overhead as antiaircraft weapons are tested.
Ship's company take part in a line-crossing ceremony aboard LST 554 during World War II
U.S. Sailors and Marines participate in traditional nautical ceremonies marking the crossing of the Equator, aboard the Landing Ship Tank, LST 554, during World War 2. This involves "Shellbacks" (sailors who have already crossed the equator) intiating "pollywogs" (sailors who have never crossed the Equator) into the Kingdom of Neptune. "Pollywogs" are seen assembled below, and then brought up on deck where they are subject to various forms of horseplay and embarrassment (all in good fun). Some are seen in silly lookout poses. One is seen nearly atop the ship's mast. One, naked, pours water over the head of another. Another is made to dance with a mop. Then two are made to dance together, after which they must mop the deck. Finally, the Pollywogs have their heads shaved, and dunked in water, after which they run a gauntlet of shellbacks who hit them hard (with soft paddles). Initiates being sprayed with water on deck.
