Successful airdrop of a prototype self-propelled anti tank weapon developed by GM for the U.S. Army

Aerial view of the General Motors Technical Center in Detroit, Michigan. On the ground, at the Technical center, a GM technician drives a Prototype T101 90mm gun motor carriage (later produced as AM56 Scorpion) out of the building. A C-119 Flying Boxcar aircraft in flight, carrying the T101. A drogue parachute and an extraction parachute which hold the anti tank weapon are deployed and extract it from the aircraft. Then 6 parachutes attached to the anti tank weapon open, and convey the weapon safely to the ground. Pieces of a wooden pallet under the weapon are seen breaking away and falling harmlessly during the airdrop. The T101 lands on the ground and is driven away.
