Coal miners sitting on a bench outside an office conversing as they await the beginning of their shift. Miners completing their shift arrive by rail car. Their faces are blackened from their mining work. They proceed to their cars and prepare to leave. The next shift gather their belongings, including lunch pails and board rail cars to take them down into the mine. open rail cars filled with coal are seen on a parallel track. The rail cars depart with the next shift of miners.

In his address from Hawaii, United States he terms the German surrender as the end of Hitlerism and victory of freedom loving people. He also states the importance to maintain peace in post war times.
