He then steps forward to decorate Commander Alexander Kelly Tyree with the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession as Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Bowfin (SS-287), on the Seventh War Patrol of that submarine during the period 25 January 1945 to 25 March 1945.
