P-47s return to Alto Air Base, Corsica, after a mission.

Formation of P-47s from the 66th Fighter Squadron heading out on a mission. Formation of P-47s from the 65th Squadron, 57th Fighter Group, returning from a mission, with one aircraft missing. The returning formation passes over several allied airfields and arrives over Alto Air Base in Corsica. Three flights of the P-47s do peel ups and execute 360 overhead landings, successively. Ground crews watch the returning aircraft as they work around P-47s parked at the Base. One P-47 makes a rough landing. Lieutenant Colonel G.O. Wymond examines Flak damage to fuselage and wing of his Republic P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback Serial 42-27910, "Hun Hunter XIV." After post-mission debriefing by intelligence officers, pilots take a break and enjoy donuts and coffee. Red Cross truck , with woman volunteer, seen behind the pilots. A U.S. soldier radio announcer introduces the radio program "Jubilee" as a band of Army musicians, in uniform, plays a fanfare. Opening montage features a man writing a V-mail fan letter to "Jubilee" to the Armed Forces Radio Service. Montage also shows V-mail staff women processing mail. Announcer Ernie 'Bubbles' Whitman then introduces 'Rochester' from the Jack Benny program. Lena Horne comes to mic and crowd applauds. Rochester and Lena Horne sing "Consequences." Timmie Rogers and Private Bate Wallace then perform, with Timmy Rogers singing, "Bring Enough Clothes for Three Days." Lena Horne is introduced again, finishing the program with the song, "That Man I Love." (World War II period).
