Crowds cheer British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during his visit to Bristol, England, during the Blitz. He is greeted by Nurses and staff in the courtyard of a hospital. Accompanied by Lord Mayor of Bristol, Alderman Thomas Underwood, he inspects a contingent of Home Guard. Churchill removes his hat and waves it. He then walks rapidly across a square followed by his entourage. The lord Mayor points out a set of three photographs held by a man. (These are not distinguishable). Churchill's daughter Sarah and her mother, Lady Churchill, are right behind him. A Vought-Sikorsky VS-300 experimental helicopter takes off from a breakwater and maneuvers to land in water, where it taxiis about on its pontoons. It then rises again and returns to its starting point on the breakwater. Pilot clearly visible in the single person cockpit. The helicopter flies away and lands in a small boat basin, amongst vessels tied up there.
