Views from inside the assault boat carrying them and other officers and soldiers, including some Military Policemen. He arrives on a DC-3 aircraft and is met by local officials, military officers, and Algerians holding Algerian tricolor flags. He rides through the streets in a motorcade. Spectators applaud as the motorcade passes. Robert Lacoste ascends a reviewing stand and watches a military parade of French forces. A band plays and soldiers march past during the ceremony. Tanks and trucks loaded with soldiers drive past Buildings seen in the background. A large crowd of civilians gathered on the streets to greet the Resident Minister. Girls stand outside the "College Moderne De Jeunes Filles" building to greet the Resident Minister

Robert Lacoste, French Resident minister of Algeria, speaks to group of Algerian steel workers, outside their factory. He and other officials, are then escorted on a tour of the facility. They see steel slabs being run through rolling mills,reducing them progressively to steel ribbons. Mr. Lacoste uses eye shielding to look at molten steel. Steel being poured from a furnace into a large ladle. Robert Lacoste shakes hands with Algerian plant manager.
