A medium bomb (probably dropped by a U.S. Navy aircraft) is seen hitting the German Battleship Ostfriesland on July 20, 1921 in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, United States. A formation of U.S. Navy Curtiss F5L flying boats is seen in the air. The following day, July 21, 1921, 2000 lb. bomb is seen exploding near the Ostfriesland. The bomb is dropped by an airplane from an Air Corps unit commanded by Army Brigadier General Billy Mitchell (neither seen). Several other 2000 lb. bombs explode on and near the Ostfriesland, causing it to roll over and sink.
Robert Vogeler arrives home with his family in New York. Robert Vogeler, a U.S. businessman held in a Hungarian prison for 15 months on trumped-up Soviet charges, arrives at his home land. He and his family disembark from an airplane. Cameramen clicks photographs. Vogeler is interviewed by media persons. With his wife at his side he speaks about his ordeal. His wife tells the media persons to leave him alone.
Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion arrives in Washington DC, United States for a visit. An Israeli airplane taxis in front of the U.S. Military Air Transport Service Terminal, Washington; located at Washington National Airport in Arlington Virginia. David Ben-Gurion is on a visit to the U.S. during which he will enlist American aid for Israel bond drive. Citizens stand behind railings guarded by security guards. The Prime Minister disembarks from the airplane. He is greeted by U.S. officials.
A strike of garment workers in New York. Thousands of garment workers shout 'we want strike' at a meeting to vote for the strike. A man speaks into a microphone. A large group of workers gathers to vote for the strike.
A rocket airplane fails in the 1st mail test in Greenwood Lake, New York. A rocket designed to carry mail at a tremendous speed, is prepared for a launching. 'Gloria' written on the rocket. Men work with fueling tanks. The rocket on a ramp for launch. German-American rocket scientist, Willy Ley, wearing protecting gear, ignites the rocket. The rocket starts and flops on snow covered ground.
N.J. Blumberg is chosen as the pioneer of the year in New York. Motion picture pioneers and Hollywood movie studio executives gather for their jubilee dinner, welcoming sixty mew members. They take their dinner at a dining table. Many representatives of financial world, civic affairs and entertainment world attend the program. N.J. Blumberg, the chairman of the board of Universal -International Pictures, is awarded the pioneer of the year. Mr. Blumberg delivers a speech.
