Memorial monument to José de San Martín is dedicated in Washington, DC

Argentine Ambassador Honorio Pueyrredón speaks into four microphones, at the dedication of a memorial to General and independence leader, José de San Martín, located in Judiciary Square, Washington, DC. (It was moved to Triangle Park, at Virginia Avenue and 20th Street, in 1976.) This is a duplicate of the original located at the Plaza San Martin, in Buenos Aires. It is a gift to the United States from Argentina. View of the flag-draped equestrian statue, as it is uncovered displaying the flags of Argentina and the United States and numerous doves flying skywards. View of the memorial base, as an aide climbs steps and presents the Ambassador with an object that he places into an opening in the base. Scene shifts to President Calvin Coolidge, stepping to the podium, surrounded by officials and notables, including First lady Grace Anna Goodhue Coolidge. They applaud and then sit as the President begins to speak. Change of scene shows closeup of the President and Mrs. Coolidge standing on a stand decorated with flags and bunting, set up next to a building. Secretary of State, Frank Billings Kellogg, stands to the left of Mrs. Coolidge. Uniformed Argentine soldiers stand at attention in front of the dignitaries. The President shields his eyes from the sun as he observes something to his left.

Johnson delivers speech about Vietnam at a news conference on July 28, 1965, in which he states,among other things, "Three times in my lifetime...Americans have gone to far lands to fight for freedom..." as he explains U.S. involvement in Vietnam and the Vietnam War.
