On 27 February, 1937, Two Army Air Corps Reserve pilots are killed in the crash of a North American BT-9A, 36-118, "3", of the Air Detachment, 6th USAAC Area. (Reportedly, the accident occurred as 2d Lt. John P. Spake, in the front cockpit, was practicing instrument flying under a hood, while being monitored by 2d Lt. Clyde H. Wood, Jr in the rear cockpit.) The remains of the aircraft are seen at the edge of the Chicago Municipal Airport. Many spectators surround the crash site. Around 1937 a combination bus and rail car with two types of wheels. Two types of wheels enables it to move on roads and on rails as well. Brother Andre, the former Alfred Bessette, was a revered 20th century disciple of St. Joseph associated with St. Joseph's Oratory, a major Roman Catholic religious sanctuary in Montreal, Canada (l'Oratoire Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal). On Saturday, January 9, the coffin is taken from the Oratory to the Montreal cathedral Marie-Reine du Monde (Mary Queen of the World), for a first funeral Mass. Six Firemen Officers carry it inside. Mussolini extends his arm in a “Roman Salute” from his car along the Via dei Fori Imperiali. 50,000 Italian women gather to welcome Mussolini. He addresses the crowd from his balcony in Palazzo Venezia (Piazza di S. Marco, 49, 00186 Roma RM, Italy). Women dressed in traditional Lazio attire cheer Mussolini outside the Colosseum in Rome.
