Re-enactment, some time after the actual event, of actions taken in the Gulf of Tonkin incident, August 2nd through 5th, 1964, aboard the USS Turner Joy (DD-951). Two crew members, wearing headsets,monitor radar screen and report their obervations on intercom. At another location, two officers and a sailor monitor another radar screen and converse on the interphone.

St. Louis Cardinals beat New York Yankees to clinch baseball 1964 World Series

Newsreel clip highlighting game 7 of baseball's 1964 World Series. Shot of small Cardinals flags. Stands of Sportsman's Park in St. Louis filled to capacity. Cardinals score when in fourth inning when wild throw to first base allows Ken Boyer to score. Mel Stottlemyre pitches to Dal Maxvill but Cardinals pull a double steal, allowing Tim McCarver to score. Maxvill singles to right, scoring another run. Later in the game, Ken Boyer hits home run to left field, putting Cardinals on top 7-3. Final score would be 7-5, giving the Cardinals their first world championship since 1946.

U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson on August 4, 1964, announcing that he is ordering U.S. military forces to respond to an incident involving hostile action by North Vietnamese in the Gulf of Tonkin. View of the U.S. Aircraft Carrier, USS Constellation (CV-64) underway in the Gulf of Tonkin, off Vietnam. Next, pilots are seen walking on flight deck of the carrier,USS TICONDEROGA (CVA-14). Behind them are A-3B Skywarriors of VAH-4 "Fourrunners," Det. B (tail code "ZB"). One displays BuNo 142255. Clear view, from another aircraft overhead, of a U.S. carrier-based Douglas A-4 Skyhawk aircraft diving and firing a rocket at a target in North Vietnam and pulling out over hills afterwards. Massacre of innocents during Congo crisis in 1964. Viet Cong prisoners treated in accordance with 3rd Geneva Convention during Vietnam War.

Bodies of persons killed in Congo, when some 200 foreigners and thousands of Congolese were executed by rebel "Simbas" in Stanleyville and environs, in 1964. Evidence being gathered to facilitate prosecution of perpetrators. Major-general Joseph Mobutu (Mobutu Sese Seko), Congo Army chief of Staff, is seen confering with other Congo officials. Two possible perpetrators are seen. Rescued persons receiving food at a temporary camp. Persons accused of inhumane treatment of others on trial. Soldiers using force to capture troublemakers. Delegates seen at the Third Geneva Convention at the Palace of Nations in in 1949. Viet Cong prisoners being treated humanely, in accordance with the provisions of the 3rd Geneva Convention, during Vietnam war. Some seen switching allegiance to Republic of Vietnam.

Air Sea Rescue readiness and routine operations of 1389th Air Force Base Unit at Kindley Field, Bermuda

Activities in Bermuda of USAF Air Transport Command, Atlantic Division units. An air-sea rescue boat is secured under the fuselage of a USAF SB-17G Flying Fortress aircraft, of the 7th Air Rescue Squadron, at Kindley Field. "ASR 578" is painted on the B-17 fuselage. Air-sea rescue equipment displayed on a ramp, including rations, Gibson girl hand-cranked emergency radio, signal flares and smoke, etc. Very pistols and emergency rockets are also shown. Several kits of such emergency equipment with parachutes, ready for air drop. Scene changes to routine USAFoperations at the base. A USAF technical Sergeant enters information about a C-54 aircraft on the Kindley Field blackboard log of transient aircraft. Several other entries already appear on the blackboard. An Air Force Captain marks up a flight control tag for a transient aircraft..
