Delgado Flash sets speed record at New Orleans. 16 inch Sea Coast Gun rushed to completion at Watertown, Massachusetts, U.S.

Plane takes off, piloted by Clarence McArthur and is clocked at 207.02 mph, a new speed record, for planes in its class. Clarence lands the plane and kisses a girl. In separate clip, armament factory workers elevate the barrel of a 16 inch Sea Coast Gun in Watertown, Massachusetts. A man looks at a 2000 pound shell meant for the gun. (Shortly before outbreak of World War 2).

(Note: The race was expected to feature the much-anticipated meeting of Seabiscuit and War Admiral, but Seabiscuit is scratched due to an injury just minutes before the race is scheduled to take place, much to the dismay of the record crowd that had gathered. War Admiral finished fourth in this race. This would help set the stage for the famed match race between the two champions that is ultimately held at Pimlico in Baltimore, MD later that year.)
