A homeless tramp breaks into the Wm. Waldorf Astor mansion. He walks back and forth a luxurious vacant bedroom as he talks. He smokes and checks himself out in front of the vanity mirror. The tramp sleeps in the four-poster bed before a matron and her maid walks into the room. The woman removes her hat and gives it to her maid. She checks herself in front of the mirror before retiring to bed. She discovers the tramp in her bed and runs out of her room for the maid. The maid enters and finds the stranger in her mistress’ room. She runs out of the room and returns with her mistress and a police officer. The policeman apprehends and takes the tramp away. The policeman hits the tramp with a stick as they leave the room. The tramp buys a newspaper from a newspaper boy and reads it. He kicks the newspaper boy and waves his newspaper in the air.
Yachts compete in a great international yacht races. The light boat is seen marking the finish line with great struggle. As the American yacht Columbia crosses the line, followed closely by the yacht Shamrock, steam rises from the whistle of the light vessel.
The first annual automobile parade by the Automobile Club of America in Manhattan, New York City. Madison Square Garden is seen in the background. At least ten different types of cars, including electric and steam powered ones drive by. Some bicycles ride near the automobiles. Police officers walk nearby.
