Unmodified cars (right out of showroom) compete in Car and Driver magazine's Stock Car Challenge race, Lime Rock, Connecticut
Highlights of the annual "Car and driver Showroom Stock Car Challenge." Scenes of Lime Rock Park, a road course auto racing track in Connecticut. A large crowd of spectators and racers gathered in the park. Competitors seen tightening wheel lug nuts and and cleaning car windows. Spectators watch as the racers drive through the race track. These races are partially funded by automobile manufacturers who use unmodified cars for racing and evaluate engineering, performances and safety features of the cars. Race drivers check power plants, transmissions, differentials in driving aspects, suspension system, tires and wheels, braking system, body safety measures, emission control system and bumpers of the cars they buy. Peter Gregg gives a demonstration of safety driving measures. Another famous race driver Bob Bonderant, shares his driving experience with driving safety education. Police, ambulance and fire department send their members to driving schools so that students can improve their driving skills and pursue public driving duties. Civilians attend an automobile show where they are made aware about the latest features like rear view mirror, stronger bumpers and improved suspension. Racing scenes of cars careening, throwing up dirt, spinning 180 degrees, coming up on two wheels, and similar events on the track. Police car demonstrates quick maneuver to avoid road hazard.

Opening scene shows numerous guests seated at an outdoor luncheon in the gerden of George Eastman's house in Rochester, New York. The occasion is the 100th Anniversary of Gorge Eastman's birth. Views of the house where Eastman was born. It has been moved from Waterville, New York to its present location in the gardens of his last home in Rochester, New York. Two little girls stand with parents. One holds a Kodak camera. Closeup of a woman taking a photograph and another of a young man photographing with a compact motion picture camera. A man using a historic motion picture camra on a tripod. People gather around the porch of the Eastman birthplace house where Officials of the George Eastman House, including Dr. C. E. Kenneth Mees, President, Mr. James E. Gleason, Chairman of the Board, and Mr. Charles Hutchison, Vice Presi-dent, are seated. One of them is seen speaking at a podium. U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt visits Bell and Curtiss aircraft factories in Buffalo, New York
On November 2, 1940, U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and party visit P-39 aircraft production line at the Bell Aircraft Company factory, 2050 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, New York, and P-40 production lines at the Curtiss Aeroplane factory, 2303 Kenmore Avenue, Buffalo, NY. Workers in the Bell plant pose around and inside fuselages taking shape along a production line for Bell P-39 Airacobra airplanes. In the Curtiss plant, view from rear, of Secret Service agent in coat and hat, standing on running board of an open Packard motor car carrying President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and his party as they drive slowly along an aisle in the factory, showing P-40 aircraft in various stages of completion. The President is barely visible in the back seat. (This is a 1939 Packard twelve, model 1708, special parade car, built for the President's use.) View from ahead of the President's car, as it proceeds along the Curtiss P-40 production line. (The President, in coat and hat, sits in the right rear seat.) As they progress along the production line, the aircraft seen are increasingly more complete. At the Bell plant, the motorocade passes a fully assembled P-39 on display. The President holds a desk model of the plane. The American flag and Presidential flag are displayed on the front of the car. The president is now seen without his hat. The car moves into a section of one of the factories that fabricates wing assemblies and other smaller parts. Employees are lined up outside the plant and applaud the President. [Note: There is a possibility that some scenes may be from other Buffalo-area aircraft factories that started production in 1942, including the Bell Plant in Wheatfield, NY (Niagara Falls) and the Curtiss Plant #2 at the Buffalo Airport.]
