The formation of B-17s is attacked by German FW-190s and ME-110 fighter planes. B-17 gunners shoot one down. They shoot down two more FW-190s and then an ME-110, which explodes in a ball of fire. An attacking German FW-190 is suddenly intercepted by a British Spitfire over the British Channel, and retreats. Seeing this, crew members in one B-17 begin to sing "Goodnight Sweetheart."
