A film titled 'Activities in Italy' shows the United States 5th Army soldiers entering the city of Pisa, Italy after Nazi German forces surrender during World War II. A film titled 'Activities in Burma' shows Allied soldiers digging up a Japanese mine on Ramree Island in Burma during World War II. Discovered by a native, the mine consists of Japanese and British bombs. Soldiers remove the bomb.
Italian Prisoners of War disembark from a ship in Bombay, India, during World War II. Prisoners being escorted to British prison camps under heavy guard. Four Italian Generals are among the group. Winners are recognized and receive their awards at the inaugural Greenbrier Professional-Amateur (Pro-Am) golf tournament at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The golf tournament, later known as the Same Snead Festival, finished on April 19, 1948, and served also as a marquee reopening event for The Greenbrier Resort following its use as a U.S. military hospital in World War 2.
