The troops march on streets of a Japanese town with houses along them. Reviewing officers include Major General D.J. Cowan (Commander of British and Indian Forces in Japan), Brigadier General R.S. McNaught (DSO Commander of British Brigade), Lieutenant John Slim (Aide-de-Campe to General Cowan), Lieutenant Colonel J. Harrington, Lieutenant Colonel Alasdair Mac Lean (Commanding General of Queen's Own Highlanders in Japan). The band of the 8th Gurkha Rifles Infantry of India marches past the reviewing stand.
Prime Minister Lester Pearson of Canada and United States President Lyndon Johnson (LBJ) meet at White House. Helicopter of Prime Minister Pearson lands in the White House. President Johnson welcomes Prime Minister Pearson. President Lyndon B. Johnson and Prime Minister Pearson sign a multi-million dollar power and flood control project in the Pacific Northwest. Dignitaries at the meeting watch and clap at the signing off the pact. Another pact signed between the two leaders on making an international park at the summer camp of late President Franklin D. Roosevelt on Campobello Island off the Coast of New Brunswick.
The December 1, 1969 Draft Lottery for the year 1970 is held at the United States Selective Service headquarters in Washington, D.C. The draft lottery is led by General Lewis B. Hershey, Selective Service Director. The ceremony begins with a benediction, and then an official pours slips of paper containing birth dates into a glass bowl. Congressman Alexander Pirnie of New York draws the first birth date. He declares the date, September 14, and another man pastes the birth date next to a number on a board. Members of the Selective Service Youth Advisory Committee draw additional birth dates and the board is filled out with the draft sequence.
General Mark W. Clark boards a plane and arrives at Milan Airport, at the end of World War II. General Willis D. Crittenberger greets him. General Clark, Lieutenant General Sir Richard L. G. McCreery and General Crittenberger sit in a Jeep. They inspect honor guard composed of troops and tanks of various nationalities including South African, British, Brazilian etc.
