Willie Mays leads National League to victory in baseball's 1963 All-Star Game
Newsreel clip on Willie Mays' dominance during baseball's 1963 All-Star Game. Clip opens with shots of 44,000 people in attendance at Cleveland's Municipal Stadium. In the second inning, with the Angels' Ken McBride pitching, Mays steals second, then scores moments later on a single by Dick Groat. In the third inning, Mays singles to score Hank Aaron, steals second again, then scores on a hit by Ed Bailey. The American League comes back to tie the game on hits by Frank Malzone of the Red Sox and Earl Battey of the Twins. (Note: you can see large sections of empty seats in the background of these shots.) National League goes ahead again in fifth when Tommy Davis moves to third on error and Mays drives him in on a groundout. Later, Joe Pepitone of the Yankees hits a long drive off the Dodgers' Don Drysdale, but Mays catches it near the 380 ft. sign in centerfield. Mays bangs his shin against the fence and limps in but is ok. Yankees' Bobby Richardson makes final out in the ninth and the National League wins 5-3.

Army Master Sergeant Stuart Queen, narrator, speaks about America's defense against threat of atomic attack in these times of lukewarm peace. View of mountainous region in Alaska. A cluster of Cup'it Eskimo dwellings is seen on Nunivak Island, in the Bering Sea. Several of the local inhabitants are fishing through holes cut in the ice. A Sergeant handles paper tape messages being sent and received by teletype. Another soldier plugs connections into a communications switchboard. Next, the camera pans over the entrance to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, in the Pentagon. More views of soldiers attending banks of teletype machines. Animated map displays paths of orders being transmitted to U.S. Air Defense Centers in San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, New York, and Atlanta. Other details are identified, including the window from which shots were fired in the Texas School Book Depository Building. Details of distances from various points and timing of shots are narrated. Scene shifts to view from inside a car following the motorcade route. it turns in front of the Texas School Book Depository, where some spectators are watching the activity. Spectators watch on Elm Street,as the car retracing the motorcade route heads toward and through the Triple Underpass. Dallas police officers are seen controlling traffic to facilitate the Secret Service filming. Scene shifts to the Texas Book Depository, where window used by the assassin is pointed out. The camera focuses back as the car follows the original motorcade path.
