Electro-shock is given to the patient for a small time interval. Mouth gag is placed in the patient's mouth. Assistants exert pressure on the patient's shoulders, chests, arms and knees during the convulsion to moderate his body's movements.

The patient is given an electro-shock treatment, or electric shock therapy, thereafter. Patient's convulsions reduce drastically due to preliminary curarization. An analysis of the therapeutic effects of the electro-shock treatments under different symptoms is displayed.
